Often the first to employ creative marketing methods, iconic market leading company Irvin & Johnson (I&J) embarked on a national Pocket Tissue advertising campaign, distributing over 200,000 I&J branded Pocket Tissues which included a discount coupon in the pack. These were accepted with great appreciation from visitors to the Two Oceans Aquarium, customers in supermarkets throughout the country and parents via their children (coupons having been distributed through a number of schools).
Exceptional returns seen. Conventional coupon redemption rates range from 1.5% to 2%. Preliminary results from I&J’s Pocket Tissue campaign indicates a redemption rate of over 5%. That’s more than twice the average from traditional mediums!
